Lawrence Cooley – “Use Me” (Bill Withers)

Lawrence Cooley bears all as he belts out Bill Wither’s “Use Me.” Cooley is a singer-songwriter accustomed to riding the embrace of the crowd as he performs over 200 shows a year. He’s a regular on the New York City scene as a solo act and mesmerizes the summer Hamptons crowd on Long Island, New York. We captured the inexhaustible Cooley for a Cosmic Session with the Space Wow guitar. In a typical show, Cooley lays down an acoustic set by drumming on his guitar, records on a loop station and continues to build upon it, playing guitar—an impressive live performance. His personal guitar takes a beating as it is decked with adhesive tape for band-aids. The Space Wow, a hollow body, came out unscathed from Cooley’s clasp. It has a bamboo back and neck and titanium parts, along with titanium truss rods.

Don DiLego – “Go Pack Your Suitcase”

Presenting “Go Pack Your Suitcase” by Don DiLego on his album “Magnificent Ram A.” The session was shot at the cozy embrace of Atomic Studios tucked away somewhere in Brooklyn, New York. DiLego is joined by fellow guitarist the ebullient Derek Cruz.

DiLego is an indie-folk rocker who Rollingstone refers to as “alt-country’s next poster boy.” DiLego’s singing and storytelling harken old country music and 80’s indie-pop with a modern approach.

DiLego is the winner of the IMA 2013 Roots /Americana Album of the Year. He also is part of the electro-twang duo Beautiful Small Machines that put out a ‘hootenanny’ rendition of rapper M.I.A.’s Paper Planes.

Derek Cruz is playing the Space Wow from the eco-friendly Ethiq collection. It’s a hollow body made of bamboo, non-tropical wood and titanium parts.

DiLego is playing the Ethiq Folk, a 100% bamboo guitar that is the genesis to Jean-Yves Alquier’s Ethiq collection. Alquier searched for a viable alternative to wood and found it in a tall grass. Alquier built the Ethiq Folk, with the challenge of replacing each wooden piece with bamboo.

It doesn’t take much to get pulled in when Joe Marson says he will tell you a story in “Stuttering On,” from his project Bodizafa. This gypsy soul draws you in with a smooth voice. The climax of his story manifests a powerful vocal range as he “walks with the devil” and “whispers in the ear of the one woman” he couldn’t have. All while he masterly plays guitar, ending with a solo on the Space Wow guitar.

Marson has been captivating audiences across the country with his bluesy live performances. His music is featured in Deadpool, Netflix’s Bloodline and FX’s Justified.
